Handmade by Shibata Tamaki, this cedar wood bento box is named UNA-JU. "JU" in Japanese means typical food box. "UNA" is short form of Unagi, eel fish. UNA-JU is typically used for Japanese eel rice dish. The overall design is the same as bento boxes, but the proportion is slightly more squarish. It is also slightly deeper than other bento box so it can contain a hearty portion of rice beneath.
It is also a great size as bento lunch box for those who prefer a slightly larger portion of food. As Western's food portion may be larger, be sure to check the size before ordering. Feel free to be creative.
This box can also be used as storage containers for anything. Sewing kit, special collection of accessories, stationary... etc. Or use it an eco-friendly gift box that can be kept and re-use. Together with cloth wrapping, the presentation is unique.
Made with finely planed 4mm thick cedar wood with the iconic sakura bark stitching. It has a very pleasant aroma of cedar wood. The perfect rounded-corner has 7 grooves.
