Handcrafted wood spatulas are the best!   
Good quality, functional-size spatulas for kintugi-use is very hard to come by.  We are now adding a new size as many kintsugi advocates are also now experimenting with urushi lacquering craft.  When mixing more quantity of urushi, you will find a wider spatula to be more useful and easier to mix a bigger batch of sabi. 
 
 
Our standard kintsugi spatula set are 15mm and 30mm, which is great for mixing your priming paste on a small palette.  Add this 50mm to your tool kit if you often work on larger projects, or have plan to evolve to do urushi lacquering. OR simply if you are the "heavy-handed" type which finds it easier to use larger tools. 
 
Each one is handmade by our artisan Kai using local cherry wood.  Over time, the tools will age and patine from all your practices using oil and urushi lacquer.  (That's one of the reason why I love wood tools).   You won't find wood spatula like these in any store. 
 
With your own knife or sand paper, you can also customize it to fit your practices, whether is beveling the edge, or rounding the corner or edge for concave surface like bowls.
