Each shape represents a region in Kyushu Japan where tops were regionally developed since centuries ago. They are now the pride of regional spin-top players and collectors. Learn the history of "kenka koma" (battle tops) Japanese wooden tops and they make great story-telling pieces. The battle ones come with a metal pin tip (unique to Kyushu style). This gift set is all-wood and are made suitable to play indoor without scratching up the floor.
Each one is hand crafted by artisan at Kumamoto Tops, using a rare oak wood found only in Kyushu Japan. Each one is painstakingly hand-painted. Once you hold one in your hand, with the solid weight, you will understand the difference. Not all tops are created equal.
For outdoor "kenka" battle tops with steel pin, see our separate listing.
